Risk Assessment/ Shooting Schedule

Risk Assessment:

The location where i will be taking the first half of my photos is inside a building, there will be no wires as a hazard, the temperature will not be a problem for the first half of my photos as they will be shot inside, although i will check before hand that the temperature of the room that we are using is warm, acceptable and adequite. On the other hand the second half of my photos will be shot outside in a park called 'Castlefield' in wellingborough which is not far from where i live therefore i will have no problem in carrying my equipment to this destination. Also the equipment i will be using is a tripod for my camera in order to focus the picture clearly and enable me to take photos from various different angles, this will be set up safely and be stable so that it does not interfere with my shoot and the model that will be included.

Shooting Schedule

Firstly I will organise the equipment that I will need to use whilst shooting pictures for my music magazine front over, contents page and double page spread. Therefore I will use my own digital camera that I have to shoot these photos which gives me more time to take these pictures in as I will not have to book out a camera from our media room. Furthermore I will also not have to book out the tripod as one of my siblings is familiar with photography and owns a tripod that she is allowing me to use. Having both a camera and tripod at home is an extreme advantage for me as I will be shooting my photos around the area that I live and not at school, otherwise if I did not have this equipment and had to book it out for a period of time I would have been restricted to taking my images around school. Also I will not need permission to take these photos as they will be shot in a public place and not on private landing. Due to the fact that I need three different images, one for my front cover, contents page and double page spread one of my sets will be taken inside and two sets will be taken outside, therefore I will have to be aware of the weather conditions and make sure that is the weather is cold outside my model will be wearing a coat and warm clothing when he is not in mid shot. For my first set I will not have to worry about the time of the day and they will be taken inside therefore the lighting is adjustable, yet for my second and third sets I will have to think about whether I want these photos to be taken in the daytime or evening/night time as on weekdays I finish school at a certain time and because of the winter season it gets dark exceedingly early so finding the right time for myself and my model to shoot may be difficult, however I actually want my images to be taken in the evening time as I like the dark/ night effect as it shows that I have thoroughly thought about the image that I want to convey and what type of photos will portray my genre of music (R&B/Rap). Moreover I think that shooting these images in the dark will portray a type of mysterious and dusky tone as I think that these tone’s will show the darkness that parts of R&B/Rap music entail, I also think that shooting these images in darkness may go against the usual images that you would see in a music magazine and they are either taken in the day time or with a white background behind the model and I would like my images to be intriguing to my audience.  ]

Time Schedule
16.00- Give my model a brief outlook on the shoot, discuss where the shots will be taken, how long we will spend on each set etc.
16.10- Choose the three different outfits for my model as he will need to be dressed suitably for the genre of my music.
16.30- Take draft photos of my model for the front cover inside.
17.15- Have an overlook on the draft photos that were just taken and discuss which would like to extend on.
17.40-Take final photos for front cover inside.
18.35- Take draft photos for contents page
18.50-Take final photos for contents page.
